a breaking dawn weekend

Wow-freaking-wow. I just finished the fourth book in the Twilight series after snagging my copy at the midnight release with my fellow Twilight enthusiasts Chris and Deannah. Props to Chris for being so awesome to get our wristbands that morning so instead of waiting in line, we went and saw Mamma Mia (which is another subject for another post... review coming soon!) The whole "midnight release" was kind of anti-climactic because I was really hoping to see some crazy fans dressed up like vampires, but... all I saw were crazy fans :) So on to the book! I loved how the author Stephenie Meyer wrapped up this series. I was not disappointed! It was intense, filled with the events anticipated since the first book and some pretty incredible twists that I sure didn't see coming. I had to take regular breaks to process each storyline, which actually lengthened the experience for me- usually when I read a good book I simply don't put it down until I'm through (like the weekend I read the first three Twilight books and Jason complained of feeling like a single parent), which is why I'm somewhat sleep-deprived because Emily rates higher than books during the day... which she knows because if I try to read while she's awake she pulls my book away and replaces it with one of her own, and then we have storytime. She's cultivating a great love for books *yay* and we read hers several times a day. I have them memorized now. My favorite book of hers is Dr. Suess' ABC's, because it has the lines, "Four fluffy feathers on a Fiffer-feffer-feff," "The quick Queen of Quincy and her quacking quaker-oo," "Verna Vera Vin and her violet violin," and "A yawning yellow yak with Yolanda on his back." Wow, so off-topic here. In conclusion, a pretty enjoyable weekend with Breaking Dawn, Mom and Melanie's family in town, and Grandma's birthday today! Let's eat cake.
p.s. Happy Birthday to Danielle!

Heidi-

Thanks for all your comments on the blogs! I'm really glad that you liked the book too. Man, you should have been in Utah for the book release. There were TONS of people dressed up and acting crazy. We went to two different Wal-Marts and one of them had over 500 people in line! Yikes! I took a bunch of my YW with me that night, and we had a really good time hanging out and speculating on how the story would end. P.S. Go to my blog and click on my cousin Ann's link "An Old Fashioned Girl". She took some AWESOME pictures of all the freaks and geeks at one of the Border's here. People are so fun!

I didn't really like the book Heidi. I liked parts of it, but not very much. I would tell you my reasons, but I don't want to ruin it for anyone that hasn't read it yet.

Oh I am sooo jealous! I haven't had a chance to get the book since Kevin has been out of town. I don't want it in the house till he's back and I can devote some hours to it! So glad to hear that you liked it and I can't wait to sink my teeth into it!!!
