disclaimer!!!

Okay, several friends have remarked about my use of the phrase "balls to the wall" in a previous post and it's not what it sounds like, people!

Here's the REAL definition from urbandictionary.com (a reputable source, don't you think??)

- To push the limit, go all out, full speed ((THIS is how I meant it!!!))
- A very colorful phrase, one needs to be careful when using "balls to the wall". Although its real origin is very benign, most people assume it is a reference to testicles. In fact it is from fighter planes. The "balls" are knobs atop the plane's throttle control. Pushing the throttle all the way forward, to the wall of the cockpit, is to apply full throttle.

So rest assured, I will indeed be more careful when using this colorful phrase. I think I'll use the more literal and less controversial "going full throttle". Get your minds out of the gutter! :)

deadlines... ugh.

I have tons of pictures, videos, and fun random stuff to post here, but I'm working practically 24/7 on getting our middle school yearbook finished and proofed before our final submission deadline on Tuesday. (I'm taking a quick break right now!) Emily has developed a new habit of grabbing my arm and pulling me away from the computer whenever I'm working. I'm so glad that it's spring break because Jason has been so great with keeping her occupied and running lots of errands. Okay, back to the grindstone, and stay tuned next week for massive blog updates!!

technical difficulties

Aargh. I'm switching everything over to my new gmail account, and I'm having issues with the pictures. I'm starting to feel betrayed by the technology which gets my hopes up with all it promises to do, then kicks me to the curb.

I need to vent

My dream home. Will have. The following.

Kitchen drawers that slide as smoothly as softened butter.

An infinite number of bookshelves that look neither cluttered nor dusty.

A shower curtain that really does prevent water from leaking out the sides of the tub and has magnets strong enough to prevent a clinging plastic attack when the air circulation causes it to billow. (Am I the only one freaked out by this phenomenon??)

A dishwasher that is silent, produces sparkling spotless dishes- none of which have flipped over and collected rinse water, and so energy-efficient that the electric bill doesn't even flinch.

A front porch with an amazingly cool doormat.

A force field that protects us from invasions of ants. Or any bugs, for that matter.

A laundry chute that drops directly into an automatic sorter, which has sensors that start the wash loads... am I getting too carried away? I lost you at the force field, didn't I. A girl can dream, can't she?
